Learn about the science of magic tricks with Mad Science St. Louis. This 45 minute program features incredible demonstrations that help children to visualize key chemistry and physics concepts. Volunteers from the audience safely help the instructor perform eye catching experiments like sitting on a bed of nails.
This event is for all ages and is free. We will meet in the counsel chambers of City Hall–on the second floor of the library building.
This presentation is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.

We are excited to announce a new series of creative writing workshops from River Styx at the Brentwood Public Library!  The eight week session will be on Sundays from 1-3 pm beginning 3/19 and running until 5/14 (no workshop on 4/16 due to Easter). The session will cost $115. Follow the link now to reserve your spot.
The Creative Writing Workshop is for poetry, fiction, and non-fiction writers alike. In-class exercises will explore poetry concepts such as rhythm and voice; fiction concepts such as point-of-view and magical realism; and non-fiction concepts such as the braided essay. Readings will include work from George Saunders, Dana Levin, Edward McPherson, Adrian Matejka, and Joyce Carol Oates.
