Nirina Randrianarivony will be at the Library to help you. She holds a degree in Mathematics and teaches college level mathematics courses at Saint Louis University. She can help you with anything from elementary school to college level math problems. Please do observe the code of Academic Integrity from your school.
Kids ages 9 and older are invited to meet on the fourth Wednesdays of the month (unless otherwise noted) after school from 3:30-4:15. Each meeting includes a game, craft, or activity, and usually includes a snack (please let us know if your child has allergies). Please join us if you have read the book or are interested in joining for future meetings.
This month’s Brentwood Bookworms selection will be Red Berries, White Clouds, Blue Sky by Sandra Dallas:
Twelve-year-old Tomi Itano, the daughter of Japanese immigrants, is embarrassed and saddened when signs reading “No Japs” suddenly begin to appear around their California town, following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Opening in 1942, Dallas’s novel follows Tomi’s family’s hardships as anti-Japanese prejudice erupts around them, and the FBI arrests her father under false charges of espionage. Join us at the Maplewood Public Library for this fun group. Just bring your needles, your yarn, and you can craft with others who love crafting. This is not instructional but while you are with fellow crafters, you can help each other.
